James "Murk tha Engineer" Butler has been in the music profession for over 12 years. Starting as an artist first with a local rap group out of Columbus GA by the name Jacc Boy Ent. Murk eventually left Columbus to seek more knowledge in Audio Engineering and production. While completing an 8-year tenure in the military, Murk was able to develope a knack for engineering by offering free services to fellow service members while on tour in Iraq in 2011. After completing his tour, Murk relocated to El Paso, Tx where he began producing and engineering for local talent there. While in Texas, Murk begin taking online classes for Pro Tools Music Production at Berklee College of Music where he received his certification in Pro Tools. He later moved to Atlanta Georgia where he furthered his education by attending SAE Institute of Atlanta where he received his Associates degree in Music Science. While in Atlanta, Murk tha Engineer has managed to make a name for himself by linking up and working with countless local talent and industry professionals. Known for his quick and quality workflow, he is quickly becoming the go-to engineer for any recording and production needs.
